Project Scope
Gulf Civil were successful in the tender for the Etheridge Road network reconstruction and seal for the Etheridge shire Council in March 2024.
Going above and beyond to meet this deadline was a great success to the Gulf team and our new Client.
The following project scope involves various pavement treatments and bitumen sealing based on the QRA treatment guidelines with works varying from small patch repairs to large full reconstructs taking place on rural roads as well as throughout the town streets of Richmond.
Project Scope
In brief the Scope of Work comprises of the furnishing of all administrative, technical, and professional services and to perform all operations, including furnishing and supervision of all technical personnel and labor and the furnishing of any equipment, material, tools, supplies, and transportation necessary and required to satisfactorily construct the road upgrades in accordance with the tender documents and the QRA Treatment Guide expectations.
Over the duration of the project, the project management team overcame several challenges including:
- Logistically planning and procuring for best outcome delivery of gravel requirement within a narrow tidal range and shallow entry port
- Cultural Heritage and community engagement management.
- Programming, Planning, and minimizing impacts of wet weather within a monsoonal region.
- Ability to maintain a supply chain of required materials, supplies and maintenance consumables for the project within a remote region.
- Employing and training local workers for future community Benefits.
Highlights & Outcomes
- Provided and delivered best Value for Money outcome for both the Council and the QRA.
- Working with the client to commence works under contract at a fast-tracked site possession.
- Client satisfaction and quality works completed on all sites.
- Formation and maintenance of a Civil Construction Crew and Project Management team well suited to future remote projects moving forward to provide best outcomes for future potential clients.
