Project Scope

The 2022 Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) Restoration Works Package 4, commissioned by Mount Isa City Council, focused on rehabilitating critical road infrastructure damaged by natural disasters. Gulf Civil Pty Ltd was awarded the contract under reference number 2022-128 to execute restoration works across multiple roads within the shire.

Roads Included:

  • Old May Downs Road
  • Thorntonia Yelvertoft Road
  • Flora Downs Road
  • Yelvertoft – Barkly Downs Road

The roads were to be completed in the order listed above, with milestone dates for each specified in the contract.

Gulf Civil’s execution of these works aimed to restore the functionality and resilience of the affected roads, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for the community.

Road and Pavement Rehabilitation

  • Gravel resheeting with varying depths: 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, and 150mm.\
  • eavy formation grading without gravel.
  • Heavy shoulder grading with 50mm gravel.
  • Medium formation grading.
  • Reconstruction of unbound granular pavements.
  • Patch repairs and pothole repairs.
  • Bitumen spray sealing (two-coat application).

Earthworks and Drainage
