Project Scope
In August of 2022, Gulf Civil was the successful tenderer works contract for DRFA Restoration works for the repairs of number of rural roads within Napranum Aboriginal Shire Council in Far North Queensland It is on the western side of the Cape York Peninsula.
The following project work involved various pavement treatment based on the QRA treatment guidelines with works varying from small patch repairs to large full reconstructs taking place on rural roads within NASC. Also, this project was able to meet the Client and Community expectations.
Over the duration of the project, the project management team overcame several challenges including:
- Programming, Planning, and minimizing impacts of wet weather.
- Haulage of material in rough terrain
- Employing and Training local workers for future community Benefit.
- Cultural Heritage and community engagement management.
- Ability to maintain a supply chain of required materials, supplies and maintenance consumables for the project within a remote region.
- Maintaining a strong working relationship with local community stakeholders.
Project Scope
The scope of this project is spread over the following roads: Bee-Ning Road; Billys Lagoon Road; Pennefather Road; Red Beach Road; Stones Crossing Road; Stones Crossing Access Road
- Stabilisation of Pavement.
- Heavy formation grading.
- Heavy shoulder grading.
- Transportation and delivery of all construction materials, gravel from the nominated borrow pit.
- Light and Medium formation grading.
- Bulk excavation.
- Bulk filling.
- Bitumen Spray seal.
- Reshape Table Drain
- Patch Repair with 2 coat seal
- Stone crossing.
